The buzz is that Tom Glavine is looking to finalize a one-year deal, worth roughly $8 million dollars with the Atlanta Braves. The deal could be done by today. Since the Mets did not pick up his option, they had to give him 3 million dollars. He would now earn 11 million and thats about what he would have gotten if the Mets picked up his option. Glavine gets the advantage here because he is able to pitch for his former team, be with his friends (John Smoltz...etc...), be with his family, and get around the same money he would have gotten in New York.
...Goodbye Tommy...
