Alex Rodriguez has been named AL MVP by a landslide.
...It is easy to make a case on why A-rod won the MVP because he has put up unbelievable numbers. He had 54 homers, 156 rbi's, 143 runs scored and almost 30 stolen bases. Those are career numbers and ultimately will help him break the home-run record set by Barry Bonds. In the contract that the Yankees and Alex have been working on, there is bonus money if he breaks the record while on the Yankees. Good luck A-rod...
...Hopefully the next MVP winner will be David Wright...

ha. ignorant met fan. arod clearly knows whats right for him, as he took a lot less money then he could have gotten. yes, he would have been good on the mets, but clearly the Yankees are going somewhere. Young pitchers like Joba and Hughes, with a future star in Cano, you have no right to say they are going nowhere. anyhow, he would like to get another season like 07, so why change his ways?
ok...listen jake...even with all of these "great" young players i still don't think that the yankees will go anywhere. and this is why. with players like arod, jeter, posada, cano, matsui and others...u have a bunch of players who are not used to following orders. with torre, the players managed themselves because of their overwhelming amount of talent. there was no discipline within the clubhouse or dugout. this is the reason for the mets collapse in 2007 and is also the reason why the yankees have not made it to the world series in almost 8 years. Had the yankees gotten rid of torre earlier and pursued lou pinella like they were planning to 4 years ago, there would be atleast 27 trophies in steinbrenner's office instead of 26. but...they kept torre instead, a laxadaiscal manager who didnt do shit. now girardi, a coach who gets on players backs is not going to be liked within the yankee clubhouse by the players because being told what to do is something all these all stars never had to experience.
